Pistacchio: Proprietà e Benefici


Il frutto del pistacchio è un frutto secco dal caratteristico colore verde ed è racchiuso in un guscio rigido dall’aspetto legnoso; in commercio si possono trovare freschi oppure tostati e si prestano, oltre ad essere consumati direttamente, per la preparazione di altri alimenti, tra cui i gelati.

I ricercatori della Pennsylvania State University hanno pubblicato i risultati di uno studio sul “Journal of Nutrition” in cui suggeriscono che una dieta che comprenda anche i pistacchi sia salutare per il sistema cardiovascolare e nel ridurre i livelli di colesterolo LDL, quello “cattivo”.

Merito degli antiossidanti contenuti nel seme che hanno la capacità di agire contro lo stress ossidativo, così come fanno peraltro anche altri tipi di frutta a guscio quali noci e mandorle. Tuttavia, nei pistacchi queste sostanze pare siano in misura maggiore che non negli altri tipi di frutta secca.

Grazie al suo contenuto di vitamina A, di ferro e di fosforo, il pistacchio è un alimento molto indicato come ricostituente del sistema nervoso e sempre grazie alle proprietà di molte sostanze contenute nel pistacchio, come ad esempio gli isoflavoni ed alcuni aicidi organici, l’organismo umano, tramite l’assunzione di pistacchi, è in grado di rafforzare le proprie difese nei confronti degli attacchi dei tanto temuti radicali liberi.
